Kawal Tiger Reserve is located in North Eastern part of Telangana (Old Adilabad district) having Godavari river at one side and Maharashtra border on other side. Govt of India declared Kawal wildlife sanctuary as Tiger Reserve in 2012.
The sanctuary houses several species animals including Cheetal, Sambar, Barking Deer, Nilgai, Sloth Bear, Indian Bison, Panther and Tiger. Tourists can also find reptiles like Crocodile, Python, Monitor Lizard, Star Tortoise and Cobra, in this wildlife sanctuary.
